"VOTE  AN  EDUCATED  VOTE"

What is an educated vote?  It is one that has been made with as much knowledge, based on facts, not misinformation, that an individual can obtain.

FINAL POSTING !!

I started "Opinions Based on Facts" fifteen (15) months ago.  Since then, I have made fifty three (53) postings.  My purpose was to provide, what I thought, was important news, that most people would not have the time to search for, news that affects all our lives.  I don't know whether I accomplished that or not.

I am now 88 years old.  In my entire life, I have never seen our country in the terrible mess that it is in now, including the great depression.  The country came together at that time; not so now.   I have never seen, nor heard, such ridiculous and offensive statements that are made, day in and day out, by the, so called, leaders of our country.

MY  LAST  STATEMENT!

President Obama, in my opinion based on facts, that I have researched, will go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents we have ever had, even if he isn't re-elected, which I think he will.  I have often said that I try to look at matters with an open mind.  Keeping in your mind, what I have just said about President Obama, and all that he has accomplished, I was disappointed in him today, March 22, when he endorsed the completion of one part of the Keystone XL pipe line from Cushing, Oklahoma to the Gulf coast in Texas.

I believe that this was simply a photo op and a PR move.  It was a "cave in" to the Republicans.  It will probably help his re-election, but it is also, an approval of the entire pipe line that he opposed earlier.  TransCanada now has their foot in the door and in just a few years, the rest of the pipe line will be officially approved.  MARK MY WORDS.  Read posting 32 to know how bad this TransCanada Keyston SL pipe line really is.

I GUESS STOPPING MY POSTINGS IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS.  IT IS, AS I SIMPLY GET TO UPSET WHEN I READ SO MUCH MATERIAL THAT IS SO UNFAIR. I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE.  AGE DOES A LOT OF THINGS TO A PERSON.    ONE LAST THOUGHT, IF REPUBLICANS SHOULD GET THE WHITE HOUSE, THE SENATE, AND KEEP THE HOUSE, THERE WILL BE TWO CLASSES OF PEOPLE IN OUR COUNTRY.  THE FIRST WILL BE THE RICH & SUPER RICH AND THE SECOND WOULD BE THE POOR.  THERE WILL NOT BE ANY MIDDLE CLASS.  THERE IS NO QUESTION IN MY MIND, THAT THAT IS WHAT THE REPUBLICANS WANT.

SO, IN NOVEMBER, VOTE DEMOCRATIC AND SAVE THIS COUNTRY.

~~~
THE  WAR  ON  WOMEN
My last thoughts on a problem of today.   FAB
What is the War On Women?  Well, it starts with abortion.  Then add in the Contraceptive problem, the ultrasound invasion of a women in relation to the contraception problem, the House hearing about women's health, without any women, and the status of Planned Parenthood may be in peril, and others.
Put this together and offensive statements made regarding these items, and you have what is considered to be a War on Women.
I simply and absolutely can't understand why these men, that are Republicans, are so against women.  Have they no decency about them at all.  Don't they realize that without women we men would absolutely be NOTHING AT ALL.
I really do think that they know that and they are scared of women.  I think they are afraid they can't control them.  So, they do all they can, legislatively, to weaken women from any power, any health, and any part of being a full functioning woman.  I really think that they simply want women to be slaves to them and that they, women, should just do anything the men say.
I'm not very good on history, but I think that went out of style back in the late nineteen or early twentieth century.
On MSNBC, March 14, they showed the actual video of Romney, when he was running for Mass. Governor.  In the video, he was supporting Planned Parenthood.
In an interview, he gave on March 13, 2012, he was talking about reducing the deficit, and he made this statement.
"Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that. "
That's right, he said he'd get rid of Planned Parenthood -- the more than 90-year-old organization that one in five American women has depended on for health care, and that for many women is their only option for cancer screenings, clinical breast exams, and critical preventive care.  Apparently, we can't afford it, but here is what he doesn't know.  He can't get rid of it, as it is a private organization.  He could hurt it , as President, because a great deal of the money for Planned Parenthood to function comes from  the government.  They would function without it.
Here's what he says we can afford: Protecting and expanding tax cuts for the wealthy, and "that includes the top 1 percent."
Mitt Romney's actually willing to cut off women's access to health care to help fund tax benefits for millionaires and billionaires.
Sen. Nina Turner says her proposal is about "leveling the playing field" in the fight over women's reproductive health.
A Democratic lawmaker introduced a bill in the Ohio Senate this week, that would regulate how men access erectile dysfunction drugs such as Viagra, the latest attempt by the left to go on the offensive in the fight over reproductive rights.
Turner's proposal would require a man seeking Viagra to first attain an affidavit from a sexual partner attesting to his impotency, see a state-approved sex therapist, complete a stress test to assure he is healthy enough for sexual activity, and return to the doctor every 90 days to check on his cardiac health.  The patient would also have to attend three outpatient counseling sessions within six months of receiving his prescription to ensure that he fully understands the "dangerous side effects" of taking erectile dysfunction drugs.
"Contemplating Life"
IMPORTANT NOTE:  THERE MIGHT BE AN EXTRA OF OBOF POSTED ON THURSDAY THE 22ND OF MARCH FOLLOWED WITH THE REGULAR OBOF POSTING SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY BY NOON MARCH 27TH.
I say "might" because, I am sure that all of you have had unexpected things occur in you life, that upsets you schedule and that is what has happened to me today.  Hopefully, things will straighten out enough by Thursday that I can get an EXTRA out.  There is information that I sure want to get to you.
Also, that is the reason I am so late getting this posting out to you.
~~~

This is the third of a series of essays that I told you about sometime ago.  By way of clarification, I will open with the first paragraphs of the last CL posting, which will lead us right into this essay.

~~~
I want to tell you about an incredible man.  He was born in the poorest of the poor.  Despite unbelievable odds in his early years, he managed to get through early school years and went on to obtain a Ph. D. in economics.  It just isn't possible to imagine the obstacles he faced and conquered to get to that point.
He was a Professor of Economics Emeritus, Eastern Illinois University.  After retiring, he spent 11 years trying to educate the public about the great Social Security fraud by Congresses stealing $2.6 trillion from the SS Trust Fund.  He has written 7 books on both Social Security and Economics.
Also, for the past 17 years he has been writing weekly essays "Contemplating Life," that are published in five newspapers in Arizona, Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, and Virginia.  He has compiled 77 of these essays into a book and it is from these 77 that I am going to post some of the essays.
The reason for telling you this is that the Tuesday between the Tuesdays that I post the "Opinions Based On Facts," I am going to post one of the essays from the book, "Contemplating Life."
The man that I have been talking about is Allen W. Smith Ph. D. and I have the greatest respect and admiration for him.  I have found these essays to be very enlightening and comforting.  I hope you will also.
AN  ESSAY  FROM  THE  BOOK
"CONTEMPLATING  LIFE"
BY
 Allen W. Smith Ph.D.
“Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit.”
Kahlil Gibran
          Close your eyes for a moment and imagine a beautiful garden on a warm and bright summer day, with singing birds and colorful butterflies propelling themselves from flower to flower in search of the sweetest pollen.  How does such a scene make you feel?  Does it stimulate feelings of happiness, tranquility, and peace of mind?  It does for me.
Now open your eyes and reflect on those feelings for a moment.  Then, close your eyes again and imagine the very same garden on a cold and dark winter day.  The flowers are all dead, there are no butterflies, and the only bird you hear is a scolding blue jay.  How do you feel in this setting?  Do you still feel happy and tranquil?  I’m guessing that you do not.
          What you have just experienced is probably the closest we can come to making an analogy to the difference between a life filled with love and a life where love is absent.  Love is the sunshine of life.  Where love abounds, there will be happiness, tranquility, and peace of mind, except during those times when these feelings are overwhelmed by personal tragedy.  Where love is absent, there will likely be feelings of emptiness, anxiety, and darkness.
          The difference between a life filled with love and a life where love is lacking is very much like the difference between a warm, sunny summer day and a bleak winter day.  In the words of Oscar Wilde, “Keep love in your heart.  A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.  The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.”
          Noted psychologist, Dr. Joyce Brothers, said, “Love comes when manipulation stops; when you think more about the other person than about his or her reactions to you.  When you dare to reveal yourself fully.  When you dare to be vulnerable.”  When you love a person, that person’s happiness is absolutely essential to your own happiness.  You care as much, or more, about the other person’s happiness as you do about your own.  You don’t try to make a clone of yourself out of them.  You love them for who they are and don’t try to change them to be more like yourself. You give to a person whom you love without necessarily expecting them to give you something in return.
