FROM FLOYD

Hello It's been some time since Nov.14, my last posting.  No excuses, just haven't got it together.  I will be making one more posting this year and then after the first of the year I will start my 6th year.  Hopefully, with a renewed vigor.  There is a great deal happening that I think you need to know about that you may have missed.

One little tid-bit is a report in the "The Week" magazine.  For the first time in a decade, Lawmaker in Washington agreed this week to a long term transportation bill that would fund highways and other transit systems for the next five years.  It would be the first highway bill to cover more than 2 years since 2005.  It would provide $205 billion for highway improvement and $48 billion for bridges and railways.

The $300 billion bill comes just days before transportation spending was to expire.  THERE IS JUST ONE PROBLEM.  AS OF THIS WRITING IT HAS NOT BEEN PASSED BY EITHER THE HOUSE OR THE SENATE.  Hopefully they will do so.  However, I fear there will be some unacceptable amendments attached to it when it comes up for a vote.

PEARL  HARBOR  DAY
Dec. 7, 1941.

Most of you out there, if not all of you, were not around here at that time.  I was here and I lived it and on into the U.S. Marine Corps after that.  9-11-01 is what most of us remember today.  While there is no question as to the devastating blow to our country 9-11 was, it really didn't compare to the devastation of 12-7-41.  As President Roosevelt said, "It is a date to remember in infinite."  We praise God for those who gave their lives on 9-11-01 and we praise God for those who gave their lives on 12-7-41 and the years that followed in WWII.

P.S.  I HAVE JUST VIEWED THE MOST GROTISQUE THING I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME.

A WHITE BUST OF THE PREVIOUS VICE PRESIDENT
DICK  CHENEY.

He was honored at a ceremony last Thursday and I honor President Bush Sr. who did not attend and said "Send my best regards to old Iron Ass."

The Bust is at the Capital and it is reported that it was paid for by American people.  I say shame on those who gave for such an unwarranted cause.  He should be in jail.

San Bernardino Shooting was the 351st Mass Shooting this Year

Authors: Alexandra Jacobo | NationofChange | NewsAnalysis

 Published: December 2, 2015

Wednesday, December 2 was the 334th day of 2015; the San Bernardino shooting that took place was the 351st mass shooting of 2015 — incredibly, the second mass shooting in our nation to take place that day. That means that there have been more mass shootings in the U.S. than there have been days…

Earlier in the day on Wednesday, in Savannah, George, one person was killed and several more were injured in a mass shooting — a mass shooting being defined as an event in which 4 or more people are killed or injured by gunfire.

14 people were killed in the shootings in San Bernardino, with at least 17 others injured.  The violence took place at Inland Regional Center for people with disabilities. Three suspects fled the scene. Two of them, a man and a woman dressed in tactical gear with assault-style rifles and handguns, were killed in a shootout with police.  A third suspect has been taken into custody, but it is unclear whether he took part in the attack.  According to some reports there was a dispute at a holiday gathering at the center, where at least one person involved left. It is not confirmed whether or not those involved in the dispute were involved in the shootings or whether there is a connection at all.

According to the Washington post, there have now been 351 mass shootings so far this year.  Some days have had none, where others have had up to 5 in a single day.

The shooting in San Bernardino is the largest mass shooting since Sandy Hook in 2012, where 26 children and teachers were killed.

Many believe gun violence has gotten out of hand. A special investigation by Mother Jones shows that gun violence costs more than $700 per American per year. Each gun death averages $6 million and each gun injury requiring hospitalization costs about $583,000. That is more than we spend on obesity, and almost as much as we spend on Medicaid:

Donald Trump  has gone full NAZI -
AND IF THE GOP   DOESEN'T
 Re-pudiate it they OWN it.
Friday Nov 20, 2015
If the Republican Party is ever going t o wake up and shut down this misanthropic racist it had better be now.  Donald Trump's latest hateful howling has crossed a line of indecency that is impossible to ignore.  And Godwin be damned, he is articulating Nazi rhetoric on a scale not seen since the originals.

Just yesterday Trump told Yahoo News that he would support the development of databases and other systems to track and monitor people in the United States on the basis of their religion.  He did not rule out forcing Muslims to have identifying papers or badges.  Perhaps he would make them wear a star and crescent in the manner that Hitler's Nazis made Jews wear the Star of David.  From Yahoo...

Yahoo News asked Trump whether this level of tracking might require registering Muslims in a database or giving them a form of special identification that noted their religion.  He wouldn’t rule it out.

"We’re going to have to — we’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely," Trump said when presented with the idea.  "We’re going to have to look at the mosques.  We’re going to have to look very, very carefully."

This grotesque policy position fits nicely with his prior statement that he believes it may be necessary to close mosques in America.  He said that "there’s absolutely no choice" because "some really bad things are happening."  Apparently one of the "really bad things" isn't the assault on our Constitution's First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of religion.  But that's not all, Trump also told Yahoo News that...

"We’re going to have to do things that we never did before.  And some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule," Trump said.  "And certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy.  And so we’re going to have to do certain things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago."

So, "security is going to rule."  And I'll bet the trains will run on time.  And speaking of trains, this is the same man who wants to round up 11,000,000 Latinos for mass deportation.  How he proposes to do that is a mystery, but it wouldn't be surprising if it involved boxcars and concentration camps.  He approvingly cited the 1950's "Operation Wetback" as a model for his plan.  That operation resulted in dozens of deaths and was abandoned as a failure that violated humane standards.

In the short history of Trump's campaign he has gotten away with saying repulsive things and demonstrating overtly bigoted behavior.  Even when he disparaged solidly conservative principles like the military sacrifices of John McCain, or making a mockery of the practice of Christianity, his supporters remained faithful.  And despite all of that, he still clings to the top of the polls in the Republican presidential primary.  There has been an astonishing and troubling loyalty by Republicans who seem unfazed no matter how disgusting or ignorant he gets. And it isn't just his supporters.  Other GOP voters, pundits, and candidates, are reluctant to take him on.

If that continues it will be impossible for the GOP to separate themselves from his repugnant views.  And the same goes for Fox News, who flagrantly promote Trump's campaign.  They are already tied to him on most other issues with which they agree completely. But if they don't want to forever be associated with the outright appeal to the policies of the Nazis, they need to renounce him and cease supporting him.

What if he's actually playing the Republican party?

There’s no other logical way to explain him saying this:

"The other thing with the terrorists is you have to take out their families, when you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families.  They care about their lives, don't kid yourself.  When they say they don't care about their lives, you have to take out their families."

Trump issued this nugget in a Wednesday morning appearance on, what else, Fox & Friends.  I don’t think I need to explain why this idea is—to quote Professor Dumbledore—“beyond the realms of what we might call 'usual evil.'"

There’s no way Trump ever imagined he’d still be the frontrunner at this point, relatively close to actual votes being cast.  To be sure, he has spouted other outrageous things since entering the race, but this is the one that finally convinced me that he doesn’t want to be president.  As Trump’s statements have grown excessively more radical, this idea has grown more plausible in my mind.  I imagine him sitting in the back of his limo, thinking to himself:  What the hell do I have to say to make these idiots NOT support me?

If saying that as president he’d issue the order to murder people who have committed no crime—actions that any sane person can see would only increase support for ISIS and for anti-U.S. terrorism—won’t turn Republican voters against Trump, then what will? Does he have to say he’d cut out the heart of an infant Syrian refugee and eat it on live television?   Would he actually have to do it?  In terms of sheer depravity, there’s not a whole lot of room left between that and what he said today.

More important than whether he’s actually trying to sabotage himself by espousing this kind of rhetoric is whether there are enough Republican voters out there who will let him.

VETERAN WALL STREET ADVISOR

Dear Subscriber,

LARRY Edelson
The European Union is on the verge of imminent financial and cultural collapse ...

ISIS is setting up permanent governments in Syria and Iraq and laying the groundwork for more, even bloodier attacks against Europe and the United States ...

Russia and NATO are squaring off in Syria in what some fear could be the prelude to World War III ...

Japan has just slipped into its second recession in two years and is teetering on the brink of economic catastrophe ...

The United States has lit the fuse on a debt bomb capable of blowing our entire nation to pieces ...

And our leaders are all in Paris chatting about the weather.

Please don’t misunderstand: I am NOT saying there’s anything wrong with discussing climate change — but now even folks who are most worried about it are beginning to ask if these other issues are far more urgent.

BERNIE SANDERS FOR PRESIDENT
Floyd -
Here’s the truth: backed by almost one million contributions, we raised more money last FEC fundraising quarter than every Republican campaign, and just as much as Hillary Clinton.

Our success shocked the political media and set off alarm bells among the corrupt corporate class used to buying elections with little resistance. As a result, our opponents have ratcheted up their big-dollar super PAC fundraising.

But much to our surprise, one super PAC plans to start spending money in support of our campaign.  They should spend their money somewhere else.  We do not want their help.

Our campaign is funded by people who have had enough of corrupt billionaires and super PACs buying our elections.  The political media thinks we’re naive for taking this approach.  But we will prove them wrong.

Contribute to Bernie 2016 and send a powerful message that you have had ENOUGH of billionaires buying our democracy.

If the good Lord is willing, and I sure hope he is, and the creek don't rise, I'll be back with you again one more time this year and start my sixth year shortly after the first of the year.

God Bless You All
&
God Bless the United States of America

Floyd
